What is The Allen Neighbor?

I started my career as a print journalist covering small town life in Central Texas. Since then, I’ve worked for daily and weekly newspapers in Texas as well as non-profit child welfare organizations.

Each week, I pick out the interesting and noteworthy stuff from city council agendas, school board meetings, planning and zoning commission and other local happenings. Then I write about that in a way that hopefully entertains as well as informs.

Though I bet you know who your state and national representatives are, you may not know who is on your city council or school board. Local government happenings and local news tend to get lost in the flood of information we experience about national and state politics. If you’ve heard about something going on in Allen, it’s probably because someone is mad about it. So, I seek to offer a balanced summary of what’s happening in our community.
